I am currently working in the finance department of an international company after graduating from university. I am an ordinary office worker now, but I am also pursuing my dream to become an entrepreneur by preparing to start my own business. In North Korea, things I could only dream of were taken for granted by many people elsewhere.
These include living in a house with electricity, watching TV freely, talking to foreigners, and traveling as I wish. The admiration for these taken-for-granted activities movitated me to flee from North Korea. The freedom I enjoy in my daily life now is very precious to me. South Korea is my home where I can freely express myself and where I will leave traces of my life. To me, a meaningful life means sharing the value of freedom with other people which I learned through my experiences in both Koreas.
