Eunju Kim joined Freedom Speakers International (FSI) in June 2014 as an English language student and public speaker. In February 2015, she was the winner of FSI’s 3rd English Speech Contest. She joined FSI’s North Korean Refugee Keynote Speakers Network when it was formed in late 2020.
Eunju earned a B.A. in Chinese Language and Culture and Psychology from Sogang University in 2014. In 2019, she earned a Masters in Sociology from Korea University.
She also worked in publishing at St. Martin’s Press in 2015. She wrote an autobiography entitled “A Thousand Miles to Freedom” to share her experience as a North Korean woman. She also worked for one year in a North Korea human rights center to help young refugees adjust to South Korea.
She has also written in one year 270 scripts about North Korea’s human rights as a radio writer. As a children’s magazine writer, she has educated South Korean children about North Korean youth. She also lectured in colleges, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, and companies.
